My living room update with Dutch Boy Paints…

Here is a look of the accent wall I painted using Anchored Blue by Dutch Boy Paints, an industry leader in innovative, high-quality paint products. For my living room, I wanted to paint a few accent walls that encases a closet on the opposite side. My ceilings are vaulted so these particular walls were easy to paint myself just by using a 2 tiered step stool.

I mentioned before how I used Dutch Boy’s Color Visualizer, a refreshed site that reflects the in-store experience at Menards. The site helps you find the perfect color with the help of uploading your own pictures or using their prepopulated room images. It was instrumental for me in picking Anchored blue. It’s a color that looks charcoal gray in some light and navy in others. It picks up all of the teal and cobalt hues in my art and gives a fresh modern feel to the space. The site also offers project how-to’s and videos.

The art are canvases from TJ Maxx and At Home. The vase and sticks are from Homegoods. The white floral vine is from At Home along with the canvases in the hallway…

I moved my candleabra to the bar cart because I like how the yellow hue pops against the wall. If you go into a Menards, there is a specialized light booth that demonstrates how paint colors will look under different kinds of lighting. You can tell which colors will end up too dark for an area of a home that doesn’t get natural light etc.

If you are looking to transform a kid’s space, there is a Crayola Color Palette that Dutch Boy offers with 46 vibrant colors. There is even a “You & Me” project that parentals can do with their children. You can go online and watch videos at Dutch Boy to see how the color options will fit.

I love their plastic lids that twists open because it’s so easy to get started and you don’t need tools to pry open the can. I also like the handle on the side so when you go to pour, you have a grip on it. That prevents us clumsies from potentially slipping and making a mess. I also like that you don’t need to sand or prime anything if you’re using the paint on wood. Which is going to be key….major key *Khaled’s voice* for my bathroom project.

Just a little bit of the stuff on my bar cart. It’s not stylef like I want because I am moving gladsware to my rec room bar. I just want to keep the main essentials and prevent it from feeling cluttered. I still need to find a small tray. I am also painting my bathroom vanity and a rec room wall so stay tuned. The rec room reveal will be next!
