The Container Store Opens Today in Milwaukee!!!

First, I apologize for the quietness around here. The last couple weeks have been busy, plus with updating my Portfolio and being under the weather, I haven’t felt like finishing blog drafts. It was just 90 degrees last week but fall temps and highs of 60 creeped in. I’m not ready. Anyhoo, I was invited to attend a special blogger preview of the new The Container Store Thursday. Insert excited emoji here. So soon as I rsvp’d I sent the request off from work. It was a noon affair with a store tour, free box lunch (I had the steak ceasar which was delicious), and we all were gifted $50 gift cards! This post has a lot of pictures. Sorry in advance…

Our gift cards came in cute lucite boxes which I’m using now for jewerly…

Sonja, who was out tour guide, was a great host. She told us how The Container Store really trains their staff with full time workers going through 260 hours and part time workers 177 hours of training. This is the first Wisconsin location to open and it is their 74th store…

Cuz you know…you have to have an aerial food pic…

We were sitting on the dancefloor. More on that later…

When we went on the tour of 16 lifestyle sections, we saw beautiful floral displays that were going to be transformed into 5 food stations for the evening shindig. I liked how creative they were in using items the store sells to create elevations. I think the brown slit crates were actually hampers. This was where the sushi station end up…

This food station was created with desktop file organizers and baskets.  They used real cabbages and artichokes. So pretty…

If you follow me on instagram, you saw the video of one of their trash cans that is hands free. But on the other side they had bronze and gold trash bins. Did yall hear me? A GOLD TRASH BIN!!!!

I had never been inside this store before but have blogged about it and always wished we had one. Everytime I travel to Illinois to go to Ikea and one of their malls, I always forget they have a location there. So I was surprised to see one or two aisles of gift wrap…

That evening I attended the preview party. Sonja said there would be a ton of people but when I pulled around the corner 20 mins to 7, I was shocked at the line of 75+ people. I decided to use the complimentary valet to get in line faster.

image

Glad I did because the line soon got to a length of a six flags roller coaster line….well not quite but a lot of people. Coach buses were dropping off more and more…

Once inside we made a B line to the register area which was morphed into a huge bar. We got complimentary champagne and then wine for round 2. There was a live band that was really good. They played some Black Eyed Peas and The Wobble…

I went to the dessert station first being modest and taking one thing. Why did I take one thing? Later we went back and was stuck in a traffic jam of people. I’m talking the store felt like the club with shoulder shoulder people…

image

So beautiful the display. I am still kicking myself for not grabbing more. I was able to get a couple things the second time and every bit of it was calorie intake worthy.

Before station…

After. I forgot the catering company so if someone knows, let me know so I can plug them. Excellent tasty bites. I have the slightest clue how they walked around successfully amongst the crowd without a disaster. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly…

Coming back to scoop some magazine racks!

Station after.  I liked this one the best!

The small square containers that can be used for pills and safety pins were used for food sampling.

We need these at work…

They offer so much more than plastic bins…

Valet was great too. They were fast & efficient. I had a great time for this being my first blogger event and so thankful to be invited. The Container Store is open today on the south side of Mayfair Malls parking lot here in Milwaukee near North Avenue. You won’t miss it but it’s by the Nordstorm and Boston Store Men’s Section parking lot. Speaking of…shout out to Nordstrom because once they came here, Saks, The Container Store and soon Kate Spade are coming to the area. No more driving 90 mins to Chicago all the time! The Container Store is gifting random shoppers on the hour of every hour this entire weekend. Happy Containing! #containmilwaukee

It looks like it was a great time. I think they would have some things to organize my makeup and vanity. I can’t wait to visit and check it out.
