I love art displays with mixtures of wrapped canvases and large mats. I have compiled a small collection of pictures from magazines I want to put in my closet. I find fun in thrifting pretty frames too so I can’t wait to have enough where I can start hanging them…
This quote is very real for me as I’ve experienced someone that seems like they.just.cannot compliment my work. This is a person I share projects with because I am passionate about it, not to brag. I share genuine interests in what my friends do so I expect the same. Maybe that’s my problem and no….everyone won’t like your work but it’s really odd when some people never have anything nice to say. When the compliment is backhanded or laced with shade. When their replies are dry and vague…sometimes I debate even sharing with them. I’ve had people say they can do what I do when it comes to party styling because they don’t want to pay for your services and then their party happens…..you realize they can’t. I’ve been told “I’m creative too” when someone didn’t want my services and then kept asking my opionion and wanting ideas. Thought you’re also creative? Not as if I need to feel validations because my client’s approval is all that matters. However I am content with my womanhood enough to share joys in what brings happiness to friends/associates. I can compliment hair, outfits, portfolios and not think twice about it. I will never understand people who may like something but won’t let YOU know it. It’s always going to be someone bitter about something so they refuse to give you kudos. Don’t let those people stop your show.
I think I used the above image before but oh well. Happy Monday!
