Painting walls navy like I did for my client…

I never thought I’d like the color navy let alone navy walls. If you follow me on instagram you may have already seen my pic of the wall I painted for a teen boy’s room. He wanted a Milwaukee Brewers color scheme for the walls for his sports/video game themed room. I knew orange would be apart of that palette and navy looks gorgeous next to the hue. It’s a dark color but manages to be fresh. This high gloss ceiling is stunning especially with the gold sputnik chandelier…

I love this wood plank idea for the navy wall. It gives the room texture and a focal point for the bed….

Whenever a dark wall has the contrast of white molding, it’s always a nice look….

The navy in this bathroom serves as a muted way to keep the ceiling the focal…

Some nice navy colors to use are Benjamin Moore’s Gravel Gray, Club Nay by Ralph Lauren, Chanson Bleu by Dutch Boy & Naval by Sherwin Williams….

Keeping the bedding, rugs and drapery light, prevents the room from feeling like a dark cocoon.

Navy looks just as good with chrome accents as it does gold…

This is the wall I painted. I used Clark & Kensington’s Saphire. It looks more royal but that was due to the flash. It’s a basement room that doesn’t get any natural light so it will never really look this royal…
