So I have been meaning to blog about The Gansevoort Hotel in New York ever since watching The Kardashians take NYC. I remember drooling over the ginormous houndstooth chairs and the mix of patterns, textures and the glamorous look of it all. It is the type of design I crave when staying in a new city. They have two locations in New York and here are my favorite rooms. This aerial view and that velvet sofa is my computer’s wallpaper now…
Remember this was the suite Kim K stayed in during the Humphries era while filming Kim & Kourt take New York…
Love all the steel and industrial looks of this sports bar…
If you are scared to add too much color, simply use it in one furniture piece or small decor items for a pop..
The magenta hued drapery really inspires me to add something heavy and regal and jeweled-toned for the cooler months in my own home…
This lobby counter is pretty bad ass. I do wonder if they are over the chevron floor that was all the rage a couple years ago. It’s a risky move taking something so trendy for a commercial space. Then again, it could have been designed before chevrons became so popular.
What a view! I can imagine sipping cocktails at night here…
The illuminated art backdrops is a great eye-catching design concept. You can get the look in your own home with bookshelves and other things as well…
I’ve been to New York a couple times (Manhattan specifically and you can read all about the Xmas trip here). Next time I go, I need to experience a rooftop bar…
Very cool hotel.
