Natural and Rustic decorating for the holidays…

Though I’m more of a glamour puss when it comes to holiday decor, I can still appreciate a simplified look that’s more natural…

This tree is quite grand and filled with fabric weaved in the branches. I love me a department store styled tree that is just packed with ornaments. The gift wrap compliments the tree’s décor. Everything is neutral and I especially love the burlap sacks for those odd shaped gifts…

This tablescape is quite beautiful because of the varying heights of the centerpieces. To me this would work best on a food table that way the view across the table isn’t obstructed when conversing during Christmas dinner. Going to thrift stores and Goodwill and buying any white vase or milk jug would be ideal but if you find the perfect vessel, a little spray paint will go a long way. Basic white plates leaves room for the food to take center stage. I love what looks like old pages from worn books as placemats. Throw in a few metallic pieces for candle holders and stick pine branches in all the vases and voila…

You can also use natural potpourri for décor…

Take some moss and place small red ornaments on top and stick branches from outside in them…..the ornaments will look like fallen cherries.

Take shoebox lids or random cardboard and wrap them. Swap out your usual pictures with them…

You can find out where to purchase the items above here. I really like Save On Crafts for bulk buying. I bought branches from there that I use over and over for clients. You can see them here. How do you decorate for the holidays: Glittered up, Traditional, Unconventional or natural?
