Also like the use of built-ins for stilettos.
I planned on finding a nice white lacquered top sawhorse desk from Ikea yesterday when I go to Chicago to visit a friend for the day. My trip also doubled as work as I will had an eye out for aqua, mint, turquoise, coral & peach decor for an virtual design client. We hit up Z Gallerie as well. The good people over there replied to an instagram pic of mine to let me know they are in the Chicago area. Now if only they bring one to Milwaukee.

Complete opposite of her dad’s aesthetic, Ivanka has penthouse decorated with nice finishings but with a sense of liveable comfort. One may ask why disrupt the view of the floor to ceiling windows with a dresser but I think it’s a way to keep some privacy…

The monochromatic room is gender neutral and calming. Love the wallpapered ceiling…

This metallic mural is a pretty backdrop for the foyer…

I guess when I think of Ivanka, I wouldn’t envision this as her workspace. I do like the bold hue of the desk. And the cubed bookshelving is nicely styled and functional.

Picking up where the desk left off is a grid styled gallery wall of the same color. I like it a lot.

This is how I am when I get home with them all. I don’t have to subscribe to anything because I have a few coworker’s gives me theirs too. Lol. Happy camper…

Currently, I’m like this. In the bed with my pile on the side and a pile next to my lap. ..

Though I have my latte it isn’t perking me up so I want to do like her above. I still feel feel the medication I took because of not feeling well yesterday evening-the morning. I am fine now but still drowsy. Am I the only one who can’t sleep in? I have to get up..make breakfast…do SOMETHING before taking a nap but to sleep in? No. I feel like my day is gone. And since our days are getting shorter, (the worst part about entering fall), losing daylight time is a no go for me…

Now one thing about mags that I love is the cheap wall art ideas. I didn’t realize it until reading Boutique La Boheme, that framing snatch outs from mags is a good idea. I thought about taking covers from childrens books and framing them. Why not use same concept. Sometimes the photography of a photoshoot is too pretty to pass up..

“We started with the office of Liz Killmond, who focuses specifically on the business affairs of Kris’ youngest daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.”

“To keep her office sleek, dramatic and sharp, Liz’s walls were covered in a black and silver-striped wallcovering with flocked detail, then brightened with cobalt blue accessories.”

Pretty & functional bookshelf styling. Adding pictures and leaning art personalizes a workspace. Always surround yourself especially your work environment items and images of things that make you happy.

“Next came the office of Noelle Keshishian who, in addition to working on marketing for Kris Jenner, is also involved with marketing and business affairs of her three adult daughters—Kim, Khloe and Kourtney—as well as the marketing of dozens of Kardashian-related products. Although she absolutely loved the Moroccan-inspired pattern of her black-and-silver Graham & Brown wallcovering, she was less enthusiastic about the hot pink accessories used to contrast against it”

design indulgences

I mean really….the geometric shaped desk….the minty & black hues & gold details…the built-ins…the fact that they have a spiral staircase. Fab.

I was watching dvr’d hgtv’s For Rent last night & the designer created a workspace for the clients. The space was tight so instead of using a traditional desk with a lot of depth, she used a narrow wood shelf supported by two file cabinets. It fit the space perfectly and proved to be just as functional as a regular desk…

It got me thinking how many more people can benefit from the same idea. Especially people who don’t have a separate room for the office. For some, bedrooms need to serve dual purposes and laying in a bed with a laptop may not be the best place to produce the greatest work…

Another Monday. Besides coffee, what gets you thru the work day. What things do you need to surround your space with to make the load a little easier to deal with?
Is it funky art or images of loved ones? Photos of tropical destinations you want to visit? Do you change your screensaver daily like me?

Positive affirmations are always good to stay motivated and inspired. Leave some around so that you can always be encouraged when needed…
