I often blog about an interior & later come across the designer’s portfolio…

When I first did a post on BAMBOO furniture & LUCITE barstools, I had no idea two of the looks were both from interior design Amanda Nisbet. So when I came across her portfolio, I came across a few designs I admire and wanted to share. The above built in shelving has a fabulous COLOR SCHEME of chocolate, coral and pale pink…

Yall know how I feel about HOME OFFICE work spaces so of course I’d like this one. Especially the chrome and glass desk…

Excellent use of dead space under stairs. You can also do this look and create a desk like the one HERE.

I Heart Painted Risers on Stairs…

{rapper Plies’ twitpic}

I’ve blurbed before about the comings and goings of the kitchen and bathroom renovation I’m doing with my brother. Well, we already done their rec room a few years ago but the stairway from kitchen leading to the basement is…..dreadful. Everything else is now updated but that area is dated. So one surefire way to change bland stairs is painting the risers. It makes a world of difference. I didn’t think about doing this post until my fav rapper Plies tweeted this above picture. While most people commented on his shoe game, I’m looking at how fabulous the stairs look especially the wrought iron railing. :-)

Color Connection: the Domino Effect…

This is a black and white interior design filled post. Yep, straight to the point :-) I like the way the risers of the steps were painted white, creates a cool effect for the stairs. And the railing is slick.

This goes to show you, you can utilize any space in a room. One stool provides enough space for a person to eat at the breakfast bar pretty much making it an eat in kitchen. The other added space is for a home office area. Most people would have left this space undefined but here, the designer maximized all areas.

An older home with detailed architecture in the moldings, etc but it feels modern by having a black/white color scheme. You don’t see too many black painted trim work so I think this was a cool unexpected touch. The black floors are fabulous too. Continue reading for lots more pics.
