Spring has finally made it and I couldn’t be happier

image

It’s been off and on cold and warm but the forecast calls for consistent sixties and even seventies for the next week. I can’t wait to kick off this weekend with some DIY projects and enjoy the weather and open toed shoes for next week.

image

I was looking forward to venturing to someone’s farmer’s market but the really good one close to where I live doesn’t open until next weekend. So I’ll stock up on fruit at the grocery store. My mom and cousins are coming over to see my new place since I’ve moved so I want to have some tasty treats and cocktails on deck.

Pastel floral tea party decor perfect for a shower, brunch or Easter…

image

Being that Easter is in a few weeks, which seems odd for some reason, I decided to do a pastel tea party post since those are the same colors used to decorate for Easter time…

Get more bang for your buck by hosting a little brunch with your adult lady friends or setting a themed playdate for your daughter, niece, etc…

image

You want to dress up for a tea party. Think, ladies who lunch. With girly dresses and maybe even hats, lace, frills, flowy A-lined skirts, ruffles etc. For little girls, dresses and feather boas, gloves and all of that jazz.

image

If you want, even have a few costume dresses on hand so those that come unprepared can at least change into something festive at the party. Leave out a vintage luggage case with different props that they can go through to add to their look.

image

Those same props can be used against a backdrop for a photo booth photoshoot. So that means anything that goes with little girls dressing up: costume jewelry, scarves, crowns, glitter heels.

It’s always cute to see little girls in adult heels playing dress up. I done it too.

Color Connection: Summery White Hues…

{I’d Rather be Shopping}

The nerve of mother nature giving us some snow after we had 85 degree weather a week ago. Well, it hasn’t fallen yet but up to 3″ is in the forecast. If you could see my face right now. So I figured I’ll post some summery white hues….not winter white….summer white. Maybe if I speak Spring & Summer into existence our weather will change for the better…

Daylight Savings Time=Brighter Longer Days…

{stylizimo.com}

I welcome Daylight savings time because I’m so over winter. Yall just don’t know. Living in Wisconsin (Milwaukee) in the winter is brutal, torture and just plain dreadful. I usta like snow. But the last two winters ruined that. I’m sick of being an “artic chick”.  I’m ready for warmer temps, sun rays, longer days. I can’t wait to trade gloves, wool coats, scarves and boots for cropped jackets & open toe stilettos. I can’t wait to have the patio doors of my apt & sunroof of my car open. These interiors remind me of: Spring…

Love the simplicity of this. I love me some Breakfast Nooks

Restaurant Indulgences: Park Ave NYC…

Ever see a restaurant that changes it’s interior based on the season? Well, welcome to Park Avenue NY. Captain James Cook’s travels are used as a loose design reference. They looked at the regions he had visited as a way of framing each season. For example, winter as seen above, pays homage to Cook’s adventures in the Antartic Circle. I remember as a kid I used to want to go to Antartica just to say I went. But living in Milwaukee where our winters are artic enough, I decided I’m good. LOL.

The floral blooms and grass in the plants screams SPRING which happens to be my favorite season.

Warm yellow hues brighten up the space like the sunny days of summer…

The bronze hue is picking up on the rustic woods of autumn with fallen dead leaves and bare branches…This is my favorite of the looks.
