Mixed Metals Christmas Decor….

image

I feel I need to make this PSA. I don’t want readers to feel I’m heartless because I never address what’s going on in the news whether it’s mother nature or tragedies. I find myself obsessed with the news or reading it during those times that I feel…heavy. my heart my attitude…it’s depressing. So when I want to escape those images and do something happier, the last thing I want to be is reminded. I want my blog to be happy place and not focus on negative things. So with that said…I am diggin the whole mixed metals look. I made a few collages from places like Z Gallerie, Pier 1 etc where you can create the look affordably. But I also came across this interior below.

Glamour kitchen & baths with metallic tile…

image

Stunning and glamorous. I could live with something this fab as my everyday bath, let alone a powder room…

image

Yes I know this gold indulgence isn’t tile but the fronts of cabinets. Still stunning…

image
Most of the silver tile is paired with carrara marble as the gray veins compliment well. It’s funny because marble is timeless and classic and metallic is very trendy in fashion and decor.

Beautifully designed and styled offices of the people who work closely with the Kardashians….

image

“We started with the office of Liz Killmond, who focuses specifically on the business affairs of Kris’ youngest daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.”

image

“To keep her office sleek, dramatic and sharp, Liz’s walls were covered in a black and silver-striped wallcovering with flocked detail, then brightened with cobalt blue accessories.”

image

Pretty & functional bookshelf styling. Adding pictures and leaning art personalizes a workspace. Always surround yourself especially your work environment items and images of things that make you happy.

image

“Next came the office of Noelle Keshishian who, in addition to working on marketing for Kris Jenner, is also involved with marketing and business affairs of her three adult daughters—Kim, Khloe and Kourtney—as well as the marketing of dozens of Kardashian-related products. Although she absolutely loved the Moroccan-inspired pattern of her black-and-silver Graham & Brown wallcovering, she was less enthusiastic about the hot pink accessories used to contrast against it”

Color Schemes: Inspired by Gabby Douglas’ Competition Outfits. Love For Gabby! #teamUSA

image

I have been watching waaay more of the Olympics than I thought I would. And besides discovering that fine specimen Ryan Bailey (sprints), I am in complete admiration of the young teen gymnasts. Having my god-daughter/little cousin take gymnastic lessons, I couldn’t help but think of her when watching Gabby perform. What an amazing young lady, so poised, so accomplished in such a short time. She’s inspiring little girls everywhere….

It’s amazing what can blossom…

From cultivating your talents and striving for success…

So I figured it’ll be fun to take some of the outfits and find interiors that have the same color scheme…

Metallic Ceilings and Walls. Are you bold enough to do it?

For my latest client, we picked Martha Stewart’s Tiger’s Eye metallic gold paint for her ceiling. I cannot wait to see how this will turn out so it inspired me to browse other interiors with metallic painted hues…

A little bit of silver, a little bit of gold and a little bit of both. If you had to pick, would you select a cool silver vibe or a warm gold tone? See more here.

Tuesday’s Tips: Turning Twin Beds into Day Beds…

I’ve seen once on tv where they took a twin bed, pushed it against the wall horizontally and added pillows to the back thus creating a day bed for a small room that doubled as an office/guest space. I thought the idea was brilliant seeing as though one wouldn’t need to purchase new furniture if they already had a smaller bed on deck. I found the above picture from www.myhomeideas.com. They too used a twin bed to convert into a day bed. They also created additional storage by lifting the bed on top of cinder blocks gift wrapped in metallic vinyl fabric and plywood (also wrapped in vinyl) from a home improvement store. They used a total of 3 yards and this was such a clever way to add bins, baskets and storage underneath. Perfect for a small room without ample closet space.

Giant pillows stuff underneath this spray painted coffee table also creates extra seating…

What a clever way to have storage and a home office in one! I’ve done a post before on converting closets into desk areas Here. But I never thought of using a bookshelf for it. This would work too (mainly for laptop users). A great way to repurpose something meant for a whole different intention. It’ll work even better if some of the items on the bottom shelf were removed for a foot rest…

Here’s the budget friendly finished product of a room makeover. Office space, bed/couch, even a little seat for eating. I love the pillows and purple/silver combo. Click here to see how the room looked before and many more pics along with where the pieces were found and what all was spray painted to achieve this look. Ultra Glam Interiors: Kim Kardashian’s Bedroom & more…

Guest Bedroom in Modern Victorian modern bedroom
{Adeeni Design Group}
This is my kind of style. I love glamorous design, shiny things, reflective items…basically anything that screams luxurious. If funds were unlimited my apt would be laid OUT. However you can still achieve the feel by purchasing a few key items. 1) A faux fur throw draped over a bed or sofa 2) wall mounted mirror (TJmaxx, HomeGoods, & Marshalls are great places for very large and inexpensive ones 3) metallic paint for walls or ceiling (any hardware store), 4) a fabulous light  fixture (HomeDecorators.com) 5)Ruffled and/or any other embellished toss pillows (Pier 1) 6) Mirrored Furniture (furniture stores, Pier 1 & Target all sell them)… I adore the room above. Everything about it I love except my mantle would be filled with pillars of candles.
Carlyle Penthouse contemporary entry
{Riehl Designs, Inc}
This contemporary foyer is absolutely stunning. The glass tile really creates a dramatic backdrop. The lighting fixture draws attention upward to the tre ceiling which is beautifully painted.
Green Lounge eclectic entry
{Kristina Melo of Rosen Group Interiors}
This eclectic design features reflective finishes throughout the space & the lucite bar stools adds a stylish touch.  A huge contrast from the rustic beams on the ceiling.

Metallic Colored Holiday Decor…

pfeifferphotosblogspot.com

 I love shells & starfish (have those natural elements in my bathroom) but I’ve never seen it used for holiday decor. I thought this was rather unexpected.  Here are some eye candy holiday decor indulgences…

HGTV
 is a simple version of a tree. Not everyone is into spreading branches or the upkeep of a real tree but if you still want to get in the holiday spirit, buy a tabletop one. Getting one in a metallic color is visually more interesting than a smaller green tree.

marthamoments.blogspot.com

I love the reindeer on the side of the tree.

chateaudefleursblogspot

I’ve talked about this before but hanging ornaments from ribbon in varying heights is a simple yet fun way to frame out a window, entryway or fireplace mantle.
