So I came across this interior on Nuevo Estilo. I like the pops of mustard and teal, the black fireplace, letters for decor, sitting nooks and vases with leafy stems.

Osborn Architects designed the following. There are some other rooms from this home circulating the net but these rooms are new to me…

Glass, wood and steel. I LOVE it and this is coming from someone who generally cringes as the sight of any wooden walls. The same stain of wood from the walls to the chairs & those fabulous lighting pendants create a cohesive feeling. Score a similar fixture here…

Bringing the outdoors in, this is a different take on rustic. See the other two posts I’ve ever done on wooden walls here & here…

Love the nightstand and the bright door hue…

I could totally see myself relaxing in this seating space. The hardness of the concrete walls is softened by the softness of the velvet chairs. That abstract piece is awfully nice too. You can see the rest of the home on Rex Kelly. You’ll probably recognize some of the others which are more popular. Do you like those more or the ones I like?

Animal print. Mirrored table. Ornate frame. Rustic beams. Glamorous decor. Love it all…

I love a dark deeply rich in hues room. Combined with ambient lighting, we have a really sexy space. The architecture of the space above is a mixture of rustic & modern. The sleek fireplace is sure to set any mood. The vaulted wooden ceiling and beams makes it grand but the deep earth tones keeps it warm and comfy. It’s really the ambient lighting that sets it off. Without it, you wouldn’t be able to appreciate the ceiling’s beauty. Lighting is always something you don’t want to skimp on as it will do wonders in transforming your space.

The purples and raspberry hues really pop against the gray. The design is a simplistic approach but it doesn’t compromise comfort. I could see myself lounging on the sofas on the cowhide rug in those fabulous jewel tones. I also like how they painted the trim around the entrance (seen in the mirror) and window seat. It’s a great way to add color to the walls in a darker tone if you don’t want to commit to a wall filled with it. I especially like the blocked out area of black for the floating shelves. Gives that area a little interest.
Another mustard and gray combo with curtains puddling to the ground. That always makes a room feel larger even it’s not. Especially when the rod is near the ceiling, regardless of where the window starts. It draws your eyes upward.

When I first brainstormed about starting a blog, it was going to be geared to event planning because I was so sick of going to parties where the decor was very lackluster. But when it came down to it, I decided to blog more about interiors with some events here and there, since, interior design is what my degree is in and that is my first passion. I admit, I haven’t been great at bringing you all consistent party planning ideas. I mean there are some Shindigs like this Plane Themed Boys Party or this gorge Chevron Print Pink and Gray themed Bridal shower and even some great morning-after-slumber-party ideas with Breakfast Buffets.

But my poor series of Wedding Wednesday have fallen to the left and I promise to do better. I want to give you ladies (and….men) some inspiration for cost efficient, yet fabulous weddings. If you like the outdoors and are well traveled, you may appreciate what this couple did.

THIS travel themed wedding is super creative and adorable. It totally took the couples love of adventures to heart. Here’s some details as told by the bride:

Throughout our relationship traveling has been a passion of ours. So we decided to go with a travel theme. We started with our Save the Dates, carried it over to our invitations and throughout our reception details.

Our escort cards were compasses, our guest book/table was vintage postcards from the places we traveled spread on a gorgeous table filled with travel pieces, vintage luggage, wedding pics of our grandparents, and our table numbers were the countries we visited with a little story about our travels to that country.

Since our heritages are different we incorporated this into our wedding by having a cookie table with Dutch Specula’s (made by the groom’s mom) and Mexican Wedding Cookie’s (made by one of the bridesmaids) for our guests to enjoy. Our thank you cards will also be pictures of us holding “Thank You” signs in Spanish and Dutch. (Gracias and Dank U!) We are also big campers and love s’mores, so we made sure to have a s’mores bar for our guests to enjoy around the fire pit snuggling up in the blankets we had in baskets for our guests to take home. We truly feel like it was a magical weekend that we will never forget.

New series featuring the beautiful wedding inspiration I always stumble on. It’s funny because I’ve never been the lil girl who dreamed about weddings. I wouldn’t even want one for myself (I’d much rather elope someplace tropical with turquoise waters and my feet in the sand with only a videographer & photographer as witnesses). However you don’t have to be pro weddings to take cues from the eye candy of other people’s ceremonies. Often times you can pick apart details and incorporate them into birthday, anniversary, house warming, graduation parties and bridal & baby showers among the few. So sit back & indulge in these pictures that I’ve compiled that I feel would be perfect inspiration for a rustic romantic wedding..

I am sooooo nervous and excited about styling my client’s reception this Saturday. It’s taking a lot of my time outside my 8-5 but that’s quite alright. That’s the life of having a side hustle. This pic above is such a rustic glam space. Who would think jazzing up a barn could look this chic? The reason I’m posting it is because the centerpieces for my client contains a lot of moss like the runner on this table. The drapery above is what really sets it off. Very elaborate tablescape but my only concern is the height. Although varying heights makes for an interesting space, it also makes for difficulty in conversing with the people across from you.
