I’m not even a huge fan of hunter green but loving the lacquered ceiling. Two things, if you’re following my blog thru blog lovin’…accept my apologies. Sometimes I schedule posts…forget or fall asleep before I finished them and they end up publishing, forcing me to snatch it down. Had no clue blog lovin still has them up! So if you ever see a half @$$ed post or something unfinished.. that is why. 2ndly, I constantly get questions about the process of lacquered walls that I want to do a Design Inquiries post on it. If you know of a good site or detailed tidbits about creating the look, please send it to me in email or leave it in the comments. I need to compile as much info as I can so help from you would be appreciated.

Don’t forget the 5th wall: Painting the Ceiling…

{Belle Maison}

When I had guest bloggers from Design Shuffle here, they gave us a ton of wall and ceiling inspiration. I know I love to go into restaurants when the ceilings are black. To do this in the home, one has to be a little bold. Painting ceilings can completely change the feeling of a space. I for one, love the idea.

Check out the high gloss paint for the ceiling that gives a reflective finish…

 So what are your thoughts on this?

Turn your kid’s space into their favorite place…

Yeah yeah babies won’t remember a thing but their parents will. I love this nursery. The bumblebee and black and white is so drastic and unexpected. It’s very bold, energetic and fun. Everything is so minimalist but the color is doing all of the work…

Love the lavender and sherbert color scheme…

An inviting reading nook. I”ve said it before, reading nooks need to be fun and vibrant. Have tons of cozy seating and adequate lighting…

Chevron Walls, Chevron Ceilings…

I should be on Pinterest’s payroll. Real talk. This image above was found  there and I love everything about it. It’s simplistic in a way but the charcoal wall makes the beige art pop. And if I’m not mistaken, the art has CALLIGRAPHY on it. Romanticizing rooms with CHANDELIERS is always key especially in a bedroom. Soft plush rugs and carpeting gives the space a warmth feeling. Making the ceiling a focal point, something that is usually forgotten in design, makes this room epic for me. Completely unexpected. The chevron pattern is repeated in the two chairs as the artwork is repeated in the pillow. Repeating design elements makes things cohesive.

This gender neutral nursery is beautiful. I am all for baby rooms not looking cookie cutter and I really like the color scheme of yellows, grays and white…
