I am a cat owner and though she has free reign to go almost anywhere, one place I want to limit is her kitchen presence. For the most part, I’ve trained her to stay at the edge but to keep her out, I think using a nice fun patterned fabric as a curtain can do the trick. Use a tension rod and either attach velcro to the bottom and the wall or some a magnetic strip. I think sticking velcro would be better for me. Yes I know the above appears to show a curtain closing off an unsightly pantry but you can do the same for the entry ..

Reminds me of the hotel I stayed in while in Atlanta last week. They closed off the closet with a curtain. It’s softer and a bit more personalized than having a door. How do you keep pets from wandering in certain forbidden places?
