Wedding Wednesday: Travel Themed…

When I first brainstormed about starting a blog, it was going to be geared to event planning because I was so sick of going to parties where the decor was very lackluster. But when it came down to it, I decided to blog more about interiors with some events here and there, since, interior design is what my degree is in and that is my first passion. I admit, I haven’t been great at bringing you all consistent party planning ideas. I mean there are some Shindigs like this Plane Themed Boys Party or this gorge Chevron Print Pink and Gray themed Bridal shower and even some great morning-after-slumber-party ideas with Breakfast Buffets.

But my poor series of Wedding Wednesday have fallen to the left and I promise to do better. I want to give you ladies (and….men) some inspiration for cost efficient, yet fabulous weddings. If you like the outdoors and are well traveled, you may appreciate what this couple did.

THIS travel themed wedding is super creative and adorable. It totally took the couples love of adventures to heart. Here’s some details as told by the bride:

Throughout our relationship traveling has been a passion of ours.   So we decided to go with a travel theme.  We started with our Save the Dates, carried it over to our invitations and throughout our reception details.

Our escort cards were compasses, our guest book/table was vintage postcards from the places we traveled spread on a gorgeous table filled with travel pieces, vintage luggage, wedding pics of our grandparents, and our table numbers were the countries we visited with a little story about our travels to that country.

Since our heritages are different we incorporated this into our wedding by having a cookie table with Dutch Specula’s (made by the groom’s mom) and Mexican Wedding Cookie’s (made by one of the bridesmaids) for our guests to enjoy.  Our thank you cards will also be pictures of us holding “Thank You” signs in Spanish and Dutch. (Gracias and Dank U!) We are also big campers and love s’mores, so we made sure to have a s’mores bar for our guests to enjoy around the fire pit snuggling up in the blankets we had in baskets for our guests to take home. We truly feel like it was a magical weekend that we will never forget.

Wedding Wednesday: Watercolor Hued Romance…

I came across this romantic watercolor themed wedding display on Style Unveiled. The heavy use of acrylic in chairs, charger plates, signage creates an illusion of airyness & lightweight. As if everything is floating…quite dreamy don’t ya think? The ultimate unique thing is the guestbook idea. Using paint brushes and watercolors, guest can paint/sign their names. I think that’s so neat and creative especially for a couple who may be into the arts…

Saturday Sunday Shindigs…

This is a new series I plan on doing every weekend. Since starting this blog I’ve been figuring out how to marriage the events portion with the interior design. So I decided what better way than to showcase party inspiration on the weekend, primarily when shindigs take place. So be inspired & indulge…

A cute favor ideas…

Dressing up a table can be stylish & fun. Tissue paper pom poms, lanterns and diy streamers clustered together or hanging from the ceiling can make for a pretty focal point…

A very cool guestbook idea. Get a blank scrapbook album and paste one side of an envolope down.
