LOVE!
Nothing worse than seeing cords everywhere. If every gadget and electronic device could be cordless, interior designers everywhere would line up to kiss that inventor. But until then, let’s make sure our tvs have a beautiful piece of furniture to stand on. I for one, don’t mind a tv displayed in a room. Maybe I’m new school and an 80s baby but tvs front and center in the living room isn’t an issue for me like most designers. What was an issue is the ugly tv stands or entertainment systems that are rampant…
{Cock Cozy}
So I been noticing buffets, credenzas and dressers in living rooms and think it’s a great way to get the storage you need while being beautiful enough to compliment the rest of the furniture…
You can go all fab and hollywood glam with mirrored ones, modern with lacquered sleek looks or a nice wooden piece. But first, take inventory of what you have, everything that needs to get stored and what has cords. Because you may have to drill holes in the back for cord outlets. Also depending on how many dvds you have, you may want a crendenza with plenty of drawers versus the kind with 2 drawers and a bottom shelf…

If room is what you don’t have, but tables anchoring the bed is a must, then use one that doubles as a desk & nightstand. You won’t take up much more square footage…

My girl Adrienne asked how do you organize mags? I keep mine in two big baskets that sit on the floor in front of my coffee table from pier 1. I started to buy more but don’t want to aide my obsession so yeah. Lol. Come closer. *looks around*… *whispers* don’t tell anyone but I also own tv dinner stands. (Don’t judge as gran’ma bought them for me when I moved on my own 8 years ago). They come really handy. Not for eating but to pile more mags on, the ones I’m currently reading. But they stay in rotation for about 2 months. I eventually cut out or snatch what I want and toss them or give them away.
Alexandra decided to use her lucite table for something other than what she previously used it for. I love all the little detials to make her vanity area a cute spot. here you can read all about it. I also blogged about my admiration for her home before here. Here are some other girlie vanity ideas…

Then leave it to my girl Beth to have me blurting out “girl stop” & “wow”. It happens sometimes moreso with jewelry than interiors but this post had a ton of things I would rock….
Interiors + recipes = Tiffany’s blog. She takes such pretty photography of her process. I LOVE to cook and go to my parents to do so 3x a week. Though I dislike grocery shopping and finding ingredients I’m unfamiliar with, I love trying new recipes. To have pics of the step by step process is important to me & my tastebuds that water after looking. Here is her recipe to espresso chocolate chip brownie cookies. Thank me later…
This pretty image came from Londa’s site. Red is great paired with earth tones like camel…
Betcha you haven’t seen baby furniture like this! Linda finds the most interesting things. Here is where that came from…
Lastly Nicole asked if hotel decor or vacation plays a big factor? I personally strive for affordable especially if I’m only in the hotel to rest my head. That said, it has to be visually pleasing to my eyes. I can’t do dated ugly hotels. It has to be photo worthy. That’s part of the thrill and fun for me when I travel. It’s even why I have a series Hotel Indulgences which I will add to soon. I always like when bloggers do link love posts so figured I’d play copy cat. It shows support to those who give and hopefully you’ll find new blogs you didn’t know about…
Contemporary Furniture Heroes: Charles Eames
So far as contemporary furniture design is concerned, few names are more synonymous with this field than that of Charles Eames and he is rightly considered as one of the very best in the business courtesy of his wide range of eclectic and stylish contemporary furniture. Although, whilst Charles Eames is regularly seen as a sole designer of furniture, he actually worked principally alongside his wife, Ray, to create some of the most impressive pieces of contemporary furniture for which he is most famed.The type of furniture created by Eames is highly distinctive and his styles are regularly replicated by bespoke furniture retailers today and this is testament to the popularity and universality of his pieces in a career which spanned over four decades. He was born in America in 1907 and went on to craft some of the most eye-catching chairs to ever have hit the market both at their time of working and today.Let’s take a look a look at some of the most memorable contemporary furniture designed by Charles Eames and his wife below:

Here are my favs from the recent additions…

I like having two coffee tables for smaller spaces…

Add bright colored paint to the legs and handles of any table and chairs…

Cobalt blue hues are so pretty and my thing right now. I have a few things in mind I want to spray paint this hue in my living room…

That DOOR!! And the brick walls…and greek keys….

They even have rings. This being my favorite one…
See more at Society Social.

And in that post was this kitchen with hammered bronze cabinets? Well the following images are from the same house..

It was this pretty gold bench that caught my eye….

Love hanging pendants or sconces vs lamps on nightstands. Also did you notice the ombre walls? See other paint ideas here. Designed by Jean Louis Deniot, you can see the rest on savvy home.
For a pretty barn wedding like this where barrels were used in conjunction with wood planks for the food display….
A coastal themed bathroom…
Or just because it’s too cool to pass up….
{Via elizabeth anne designs, elements of style}

Line the insides with wrapping paper, craft paper, fabric (using spray adhesive) or cabinet liner. Or use a template and paint a cool pattern like leopard print…

Remove the top and replace with custom fit glass, insert dividers into the top drawer for a pretty jewelry display…

The most obvious solution is painting the dresser. Don’t forget the knobs which can easily be swapped out for a nice update. Don’t like where the hardware is positioned? Fine..just fill holes with puddy and drill where you like…

I know I used this image before but it’s too fab not to pass up. Paint the sides of the drawers a contrasting unexpexted pop of color…
