Some inspiration from my favs….

My girl Adrienne asked how do you organize mags? I keep mine in two big baskets that sit on the floor in front of my coffee table from pier 1. I started to buy more but don’t want to aide my obsession so yeah. Lol. Come closer. *looks around*… *whispers* don’t tell anyone but I also own tv dinner stands. (Don’t judge as gran’ma bought them for me when I moved on my own 8 years ago). They come really handy. Not for eating but to pile more mags on, the ones I’m currently reading. But they stay in rotation for about 2 months. I eventually cut out or snatch what I want and toss them or give them away.

Alexandra decided to use her lucite table for something other than what she previously used it for. I love all the little detials to make her vanity area a cute spot. here you can read all about it. I also blogged about my admiration for her home before here. Here are some other girlie vanity ideas…

Then leave it to my girl Beth to have me blurting out “girl stop” & “wow”. It happens sometimes moreso with jewelry than interiors but this post had a ton of things I would rock….

Interiors + recipes = Tiffany’s blog. She takes such pretty photography of her process. I LOVE to cook and go to my parents to do so 3x a week. Though I dislike grocery shopping and finding ingredients I’m unfamiliar with, I love trying new recipes. To have pics of the step by step process is important to me & my tastebuds that water after looking. Here is her recipe to espresso chocolate chip brownie cookies. Thank me later…

This pretty image came from Londa’s site. Red is great paired with earth tones like camel…

Lastly Nicole asked if hotel decor or vacation plays a big factor? I personally strive for affordable especially if I’m only in the hotel to rest my head. That said, it has to be visually pleasing to my eyes. I can’t do dated ugly hotels. It has to be photo worthy. That’s part of the thrill and fun for me when I travel. It’s even why I have a series Hotel Indulgences which I will add to soon. I always like when bloggers do link love posts so figured I’d play copy cat. It shows support to those who give and hopefully you’ll find new blogs you didn’t know about…

Color Schemes: Inspired by Gabby Douglas’ Competition Outfits. Love For Gabby! #teamUSA

image

I have been watching waaay more of the Olympics than I thought I would. And besides discovering that fine specimen Ryan Bailey (sprints), I am in complete admiration of the young teen gymnasts. Having my god-daughter/little cousin take gymnastic lessons, I couldn’t help but think of her when watching Gabby perform. What an amazing young lady, so poised, so accomplished in such a short time. She’s inspiring little girls everywhere….

It’s amazing what can blossom…

From cultivating your talents and striving for success…

So I figured it’ll be fun to take some of the outfits and find interiors that have the same color scheme…

With a gray background & mulberry accents, this room is a ringer for the photo of Gabby above…

First Friday Fashion Conversion: Fiery Hot

Not only does the dress remind me of sunbursts but the print & shape of it is beautiful to me. So I envisioned these decor elements as an entryway. I wanted to find a sofa with the same organic shapes and curved edges. A ruffled toss pillow and a chevron print ombre colored pillow brings out the colors of this abstract painting. The painting would hang over a console table. I love the red painted interior. Cranberry hued orchids would look lovely sprouting from these vases. A stack of red hued book covers placed horinzontally on the table with a decorative bowl & candle on top are the perfect pieces to finish the look. Anchor the area with a handwoven rug and you have yourself a stylish entryway all inspired from this dress.

First Friday Fashion Conversion: Color Block…

Gucci’s Spring collection was all about color. Pairing not so common hues with one another and rocking the look head to toe. Most people are afraid of color when it comes to interiors. They’re hesitant in putting loud hues on the walls (even though paint is the cheapest way to change the feel of a space). And buying a big piece of furniture in a loud color? Forget about it.

{Chanel Iman}

So I wanted to highlight some interiors that also stepped outside the norm to live a little vibrantly…

Love the lime green & turquoise color schemes…

Spring is FINALLY here…time for new gear!!

{Rue Mag}

Stumbling on these closet pix made me think of adding to my wardrobe. I am beyond thrilled that this wknd consists of sunny skies, thunderstorms and warm 74 degree weather. So you know what time it is. That’s right! Time to go SHOPPING & add to your closets. This is the time where the excuse to spend hours in stores & the mall are forgiven. Time to get new clothes to bring in the new seasons. I’m a cropped jacket, distressed skinny jean wearin, plunge neckline top kinda girl but I have a weird urge to get some maxi dresses. I’m so not the dress type (the only ones I own are my bridesmaid & prom dress) but styles like the ones below are calling me.

The above looks are from Bebe…

Unsure of who makes this tunic but this is me all day…..with a belt.

This is style blogger the Glamourai. She always dresses so fly & what I like about how she chronicles her attire, she always shows you other times in which she worn something proving that with mixing up pieces you can feel like you’re rockin’ a brand new look. The same can be said for home interiors. SN: army hues, camel jackets & animal print umbrellas are all things I own too ;-)

{Design Stiles}

Can’t forget shoes. (What a cool way to display them…simply put them on a bookshelf) I’m looking forward to some high strappy wedges & stilettos. Have you gone spring/summer shopping yet? What’s the temperature in your city?
