I think I will paint my bedroom charcoal gray in my new place…
I find this hue a beautiful neutral that’s fresh and modern. It compliments any color and I think it will be something I won’t tire of. I can’t wait for the raspberry and plum tones of my bedroom decor to stand out against a charcoal gray backdrop. What do you think?
Have you used this in your home? If so, what colors does your gray contrast with?

Remember when I posted this gray & purple room…

In the geometric decor post? Well here’s the rest of the home designed by Amanda Nisbet…

The felt blue walls gives the room warmth and a coziness that I love. The jewel tones are so rich and vibrant. It reminds me of this glamorous home. The classic chesterfield sofa with nailhead trim looks stunning against the purple chair. And my fav, the herringbone wooden floors. I would swap out the art for something abstract and move riiight in.

The magenta silk wallpaper is a bold and beautiful choice grounded by the black in the table and rug…

No possible way you can go home to a place like this unhappy…
I love this styled dresser w/this kind of hardware. What’s the name of it?

I have been seeing these and find myself quite fond of the styled. I love the bronze/gold on the edges and the hardware. So stylish especially when combined with bright hues. Anyone know the name?

If only I can have such luck as others when thrifting….

What an entrance…
{via My Chic My Way} Entry doors offer guests the first glimpses of your aesthetic. They set the tone for what’s in store once they step through the doors. But exterior doors don’t have to have all the fun. Jazz … Continue reading
Grays is a neutral hue that looks fabulous when paired w/any color…

So yesterday was quite dreary and the other night we had thunderstorms (which I live for). But while commuting to work I noticed how lovely the tops of trees look against the gray sky. Made me think how many colors gray can be paired with. As much as black is my fav color, I feel gray is neutral enough but dark enough to make saturated hues pop. Just look…the above design I love. The black and white is ever so classic, but the pop of georgia peach is even better. The gray looks good with both tones…

I’ll take this chandelier for $200 Alex….

Love burnt orange for fall and this modern decor is it. Velvety sofa? Perfect for autumn. By no means am I suggesting to switch your main pieces of furniture with the seasons because that’s expensive & just ridiculous. This image just screams fall to me….

Cranberry & gray is a much better pairing than black and reds because gray is less jarring…

Beautiful contrast between the gray & turquoise. You know me, I love my TURQ hues…
A nice little tufted gray and camel KITCHEN NOOK….
This dandelion chandelier & the BLUSH hued pinks that we seen in Jennifer Lopez’s home is so girlie. But I still love THIS vintage gray & pink room the best…

I love this look. It’s a little unexpected for me. When I think of grays I usually pair it with silvers and gun-metal. At least in wardrobe so to see it with gold and bronze accents is a nice surprise. I love BAR CARTS. Even if you don’t entertain, it looks so stylish to have your “spirits” on deck in such a fancy way.

A bright taxi cab yellow & gray color scheme…reminds me of THIS inspiration from nature. That backsplash is very bold. I wouldn’t suggest that if you’re planning on selling your home soon (unless you don’t mind changing it) as you will certainly limit the buyer pool. You want to stay as neutral as possible. (For more designing for resale tips, see THIS). However if you plan to stay awhile, I would completely personalize the space too…
So you mean to tell me…there’s paint that doesn’t require primer?
Imagine my shock upon reading one of my fav blog sites BELLE MAISON when I realized there is a Hi-DEF Advanced Color System paint by Valspar that covers the darkest of colors (as shown above) w/o needing a primer. My 2nd apt allowed tenants to paint as long as we changed it back to the original color. (Insert angry face). I had a dark chocolate wall in living room & a mulberry color in my bedroom. It took two coats of primer and a good two coats of paint and you could still tell we painted over a really dark color. So kudos to the brilliant minds behind this.
