Love coming across other blogger’s design work…

image

So last night when I got home I wanted to make a point in visiting my fav blogs & seeing where traffic is coming from to my blog so I could visit those sites. One that has been in support of my blog is Blanco Interiores. That’s right! I believe it’s in Spanish so I have to use the translator helper to enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised to come upon a few recent projects of hers. This was my fav. A cool color scheme of yellow, white & gray with a minimalistic approach. Editing was careful and you can really appreciate what was left to accessorize this modern room…

Design Inquiries: What’s the name of the paint color on this exterior chevron door?

image

I noticed this door has been repinned so many times from my blog when I posted about entrances. A reader by the name of Joy wanted to know the color and after finding the originating source on This Old House, I see Home Depot’s Behr brand in “Cool Jazz” is the hue.

I love a moody dark powder room. Since you spend minimal time here, I say go bold. You may be relunctant to use a darker shade of grasscloth wallpaper in a bedroom but it’ll be fine for a half bath. Nesting tables fills the space alongside the sink perfectly…

What a great imagination to even begin to see something new and hip from what it was. Love the nailhead trim detail. Upholstering can be costly but it’s worth it especially if it’s a piece passed down from an older generation. You want to hold on to it but make it fit your style.

Have you done a diy project that your proud of? It can be something small or big. I’d love to see. Shoot me an email with a few pics and a description and I may just feature yours.

You know what I like…a black windowsill or conservatory…

image

Unsure if it's because black is my favorite color or just the fact that a black window pane, door frame or conservatory looks more fabulous. Whatever the case, I find myself drawn to interiors with large doors or windows in black...

No need to paint the walls when the furniture and decor explodes with so much color...

The above entry designed by Thom Filicia brought something to my attention. I love a bold floor. It draws your eyes through out the space and makes major impact. A peak into a fabulous home office dubbed as the “mom cave” filled with thrifty finds…

image

I finally caught up on some reads with online shelter mags and realized I been missing out on some office eye candy! I love a room that has an eclectic mix of styles and colors. One that has visual richness from the colors and textures. One that oozes femininity but still has masculine structured touches. And to have the beauty of ones heels on display? Yes ma’am…visualgasms for me.

Saudah Saleem of Saudah Saleem Interiors is very house proud. She decided she and her husband could function with a bedroom in a smaller room with just the bed and nightstands, allowing the master to convert into her closet/office/mom cave.

The lamp was a thrift store find and paired with a linen shade and greek key trim found on clearance at walmart…

She didn’t want heaviness that a wooden desk would bring considering the bookshelves so she opted for a sawhorse desk with a glass top to keep if airy and allow you to see the beauty of the rug.

Her tips for creating a space that fits your needs is to start with assessing the room or area and determine the crucial functions. Next is determining what inspires you and the things that make you happy. Not to get caught up in the rules of design and instead make your own rules. Always purchase what you love and you’ll love what you have. I think those are great tips…

Random Snapshots of the spray painting adventures this wknd & chic Target finds…

image
First, I showed you here some of the items I would be spray painting of my client’s and these lamps at Pier 1 were inspiration. We loved the metallic hues in the inside or the simple fact that the inside of the shades weren’t abandoned. So we’re covering the shades with a mustard fabric and spray painting the base and inside teal/turquoise. It’s going to have a color blocking look…
