Rustic Woodsy Christmas Decor…

Bringing the outdoors in doesn’t have to be all natural. You can add a little glitz to it. Cork, twigs, branches, woodchips, acorns and bark all play up wood themes. Glittery accents and candlelit tablescapes creates an intimate cozy space. And you can go to neighborhood stores to get the look.

Saturday Sunday Shindigs: Let the Holiday Festivities Begin….

{via}

Here’s some inspiration on how to set those tablescapes & decorate for this weekend’s shindigis. Figured I’d post the Saturday Sunday Shindig today so you can get any last minute things if you need to in advance. If you don’t have a bar cart but have a baby or know someone who does, maybe borrow their changing table and see how you can convert it into a beverage station HERE. It’s all about repurposing what you already own. Signature drinks are the best because you can make pitchers of it and have glasses already filled versus standing around a blender all evening. It allows you time to mingle and actually ENJOY your guests. Imagine Design Blog always has cocktail recipes you can try…

Love the classic plaids up and through the place setting…

Set your walkway a glow with candles…and check out that brick. Love it…

Spray painting fallen branches is virtually free and brings that nature element into the space…

Color Schemes Xmas Edition: Aqua and Silver Winter Wonderland

I recently  had a conversation with a friend who is having a debate with her husband about holiday color schemes. He wants blue and green but it reminds her of her school colors. She also feels it’s not Christmas-see enough if she doesn’t have red. So I started thinking of beautiful holiday schemes that aren’t traditional. The Winter Wonderland is exactly the kind of scheme that makes me feel totally in the mood. You can even add hot pink or fire engine red to the turquoise hues for a pop of color. Love the ribbon and disco balls and ornaments in urns looks…

A lot of the decor can be done on a budget. Branches from the yard spray painted can create a nice tablescape, ribbon by the roll can be purchased from Michael’s or Jo-Ann Fabric and you can use their weekly 40% off coupons in the paper. You can also get random mirrors from thrift stores of the Goodwill and spray paint the frames for mantle decorating. Dollar stores usually carry cone-shaped styrofoam that you can cover in glitter…

Saturday Sunday Shindig: Fun pumpkin & Halloween decor ideas…

{All You}

I figured I might as well give you some ideas for any Halloween bashes since we have one week left.

 So you want to have some curb appeal whenever you’re decorating for any holiday. It’s always a fine line between festive and cheesy. I don’t cosign cheesiness. What I do cosign is chic whimsical decor. For those of you who are really into it, a half gallon of paint will be more than enough to give your door a pop of color. I think this works well if the palette of your home is already neutral. A lot of you all have outdoor seating. Perfect opportunity to switch out the pillows and cushions for ones in whatever Halloween color scheme you’re going with. I personally like the following: red, cranberry & black…black, white & orange…orange, black & purple or black, gunmetal, silver. A feather wreathe is something Pier 1 would have.

Love these bats. It’s festive without overdoing it. A simple plant urn with pumpkins adds to the fun…

Speaking of urns, how about this fun idea with mannequin legs?

Dessert Buffet & Floral Decor Branches Inspiration…

{Hostess Blog}

As I’m winding down the last month of this reception design process, I’ve been finding myself looking at a ton of wedding inspiration. What I’m doing for my clients is already set but I still like to find other ideas for any future projects I may have. I love DECORATING w/BRANCHES and I like how it’s not only something that can be done during the fall and winter seasons but also in the spring as displayed by the pic above.

Who would have thought to put tulip bouquets in wine glasses??? If someone told me that, I would have immediately given them the side eye but this is rather gorgeous…

These branches seem to be pretty natural like they were snatched right outside someone’s yard. Continue reading for more on this event…

Black Chandeliers…

One thing I love more than the color black is glammed out black decor especially chandeliers. Taking something so ornate & delicate & pairing it with such a dark color makes it rocker chic & gives it an edge.

 This above picture manages to pull off a black ceiling in conjunction with the black chandelier by contrasting white crown molding & ceiling medallion.

I adore the design of this room from the beautiful hardwood floors to the leather headboard & branches in vases on both nightstands.
