Carefully Edited but Liveable Aesthetic: interiors designed by Greg Natale

I could live in any one of his designed homes and be happy with life. The homes have comfortable looking seating that you want to lounge on but the spaces aren’t overwhelmed with things. It appears the choices of decor were carefully selected leaving a very clean look…

The molding is beautiful and gives so much character to the home. Love the arched entry. But with modern furniture, it feels fresh and not dated in time. I know a lot of people frown upon painting wood but I would totally do it too. To me, I appreciate the details more when painted white or black.

Color Schemes: Inspired by Gabby Douglas’ Competition Outfits. Love For Gabby! #teamUSA

image

I have been watching waaay more of the Olympics than I thought I would. And besides discovering that fine specimen Ryan Bailey (sprints), I am in complete admiration of the young teen gymnasts. Having my god-daughter/little cousin take gymnastic lessons, I couldn’t help but think of her when watching Gabby perform. What an amazing young lady, so poised, so accomplished in such a short time. She’s inspiring little girls everywhere….

It’s amazing what can blossom…

From cultivating your talents and striving for success…

So I figured it’ll be fun to take some of the outfits and find interiors that have the same color scheme…

With a gray background & mulberry accents, this room is a ringer for the photo of Gabby above…

What is that, velvet?…

It’s almost that time of year where fashions have heavier textiles. Velvet and suede are some fabric choices that makes a home feel cozy, warm and plush…just like these interiors…

The TEAL WALL & NAILHEAD trim details makes this design gender neutral…

One of my favorite designers is Candace Olson of HGTV. She really knows how to maximize every inch of space and make it the most functional with traffic flows and adequate seating. This tufted back for the BENCH/CHAIR dining area is so jazzy & lounge like. Feels like something out of a club. Perfect for entertaining…

The velvet backing to this bench area is so dramatic and exudes sexiness in the space. Candace picked an incredible BLACK CHANDELIER to anchor the area…

Love this calm pastel pallete for an office setting. The chrome details of the studded trim on the chair is repeated in other accessories & lighting tying everything in…

Love this lucite & velvet ottoman. Reminds me of a blue version of J.Lo’s blush one. Zebra rugs always makes for fabulous flooring.

So what textiles do you plan to add to your home this fall? Do you add the plush throws in cooler seasons or leave them out year round?

Color Connection: Tropical Ocean Water Hues…

My first design----college apartment bedroom contemporary bedroom
Aqua/Turquoise has been one of my favorite colors for summer ever since I 19. It was never my favorite color but it came at a close 3rd behind black & purple. I found the above pic over on houzz.com from user SugarDesign. This was her first project and I think she did a fabulous job. One way to add color to apartment walls when you’re not allowed to paint is hanging window treatments from a rod, even when there isn’t a window. Here, she did just that & went a step further by hanging mirrors over it. Toss pillows are a cheap and effective way to add spark to a space & the fabric choices and embellishments really add glam. The color combo of aqua w/chocolate is all the rage right now so it shouldn’t be difficult to accessorize a space like this.
Ice Mocha Living Room modern living room
I love love love sticks in vases. You hear me? LOVE. So dramatic & simple and anyone can do it. Also if you’ve been following me since the start of this blog you will see another trend that I adore. ZEBRA!!!!!!! *swoon* I swear to you I really don’t try to find zebra, I just stumble across it. I’m sure the other zebra patterned lovers don’t mind ;-) & I’ll continue to hold you all down, lol. Looking at that pic makes me miss the chocolate wall I had in my previous apartment.
Whittier Drive modern bedroom
I need this rug in my life. It’s just calling me to throw some pillows down with a bunch of fashion magazines & indulge. I especially love what they did with the ceiling and wall treatment. It’s like a continuous headboard as seen before in this post. While I’m needing things….let me put dibs on this über fabulous tufted chaise lounge.

*fist pump* First black is my favorite color & this here, is giving me everything. How unique is this honeycomb floor pattern? If that isn’t bold enough, check out the black ceilings!! Too fabulous. You ever go in shopping stores in the mall or even some restaurants where the ceiling and all its beams, pipes and ugliness is exposed? Well when it’s painted black it goes unnoticed.

Color Connection: Feeling Blue?…

Indulge in these designs & the usage of different shades of blue.

Cool silver and gray tones with the blue. Notice the book ends match the palette.

The way the room is painted really breaks up the space nicely. I feel if the entire room were all blue, this would have a totally different feeling and it would be way too heavy. Using more beige in the furniture selection is a smart move and it gives a warmer feel than having stark white everything. In this case, the different chairs also works because it’s in the same color family.

you know, I’m really diggin’ office spaces with huge vision/inspiration boards. I’m not a fan of the wallpaper but I do like the way they tied the colors from it, into the toss pillows, pottery & other small details. Putting the chandelier in the office glams it up a notch. I also like how this office desk isn’t the typical kind you see in stores. It’s like a beautifully designed console table and just used as a desk. I’m a firm believer in if you see something you love, it doesn’t have to be used for it’s intended purpose. By having a wall unit, it provides the necessary storage needed without cluttering the work space area.
