The prettiness that stormed instagram last night

image

Everybody seemed like they went to the newest Kate Spade store and instagram went nuts. I was in awe at the happy colors, pillows, window displays and bows. Here are some that caught my eye.

Miami home tour with a modern sky blue twist

image

This is pretty much what I think of when I think of Miami penthouses in the sky. The monochromatic color of water with lacquered furnishings and modern lines is quite beautiful.

This mirror is everything…

This is what I thought all furniture would look like after year 2000. Growing up, I thought by now we’d all dress futuristic in silver like TLC, have cars that fly and just very curvy and odd shaped furniture. Don’t judge me. But this would have fit my vision. I like the metallic wallpaper throughout and what was done with the column as well.

White lampshades with black trim…

image

Sometimes white lampshades can be a bit boring so adding black trim is a surefire cheap way to make it look tailored and classic.

I adore this room. The high back wing back chair is all sorts of awesomeness and paired with armless chairs keeps it modern. The deep red walls makes this a cozy area I wouldn’t mind recreating.

Finally found images of the Kardashian/Jenner residence designed by Jeff Andrews

image

One Kardashian family member was quoted saying “If something is merely beautiful as a piece of art, that’s one thing. But when you need to live in a space and have it function as your life does, that’s where good design happens.” I agree. I watch that family’s show and it’s spinoffs…..sue me. But part of the reason is the settings backdrop has always been fabulous. I like deep tones and lots of textures, elements of Hollywood glam with reflective finishes all the while keeping the space liveable. You don’t view their home as a place you can’t relax in and touch and it’s something I feel Jeff Andrews has designed quite well. It’s luxurious in the materials but still has a liveable comfortable aesthetic. I’d move in…..sans all the people.

I love her thought process. She doesn’t hide her fav pieces, she displays them. She likes to look at her closet and upon the first glance see things that are meaningful to her, gifts from family or things she picked up in her travels.
