Cute mustache & lips themed gender reveal party decor

image

Isn’t this a cute party idea since lips and mustaches are ever so popular now? Especially if you’ve already had a shower and don’t feel comfortable having another, you can still celebrate the birth of a new baby with a sip n see and celebrate the expecting new child with a gender reveal party. How do you like these new aged baby shindig ideas?

Vintage Marquee Signage and Letters with lights…

As a designer I pay attention to the details of everything. When one of the Kardashians instagrammed themselves in front of a stove, I think I was the only one who looked first at the backsplash. When I go to … Continue reading

Hot Air Balloon kids party & decor ideas for a nursery…

hot air balloon party

hot air balloon party by designindulgences on polyvore.com

On my bucket list, I want to experience a hot air balloon ride. I’m all for unique childrens parties and I think this theme would be cute. Recently I went to Michael’s and in their dollar section they had several hot air balloon items including note cards and invitations. Those random bits can easily be used as party favors for guests…

I also think it’s cute to have as a voyage theme. Typically we see airplanes used for bon voyage themes but hot air balloons are indeed a mode of transportation so why not take on this route versus the typical? You can add luggage trunks and maps or globes to add to the overall effect and still keep it child friendly…

Time to start brainstorming on that New Years Decor…

New Years Eve…a time of new reflection, new beginnings and parties!!! I still love the gold decor that runs wild on this night. Here are some fab party ideas, place settings and tablescapes with the bronze and gold hues. With 2 weeks away, I figured I’ll give yall a head start on some ideas…

This appears to be some neat crafty projects using paper and garland. I hate garland with a passion, it just screams 90s and old Christmas decor but you can always improvise and use it in other ways. On the base of a hat is actually pretty neat…

Cake stands keeps the party favor bags together…

Michael’s and Jo-Ann Fabrics (they should really cut the check as much as I shout them out on this blog) have 3D cardboard letters that one can dip in glitter to match the scheme you’re going with. They literally cost a couple bucks…

A combination of fishing line and metallic wrapping paper can get you a Martha Stewart streamer creation. I actually did this for a client’s wedding once. It turned out pretty nice and the silver paper glimmered beautifully against the dimmed candlelight and chandeliers. See it HERE

Tie together a bunch of lanterns, paper balls and streamers to create fun ceiling arrangments…

The Hamptons Inspired..

With the days getting darker sooner and the nights getting cooler faster (I guess our July was the August weather with 95 tropical temps and our August will be the September weather of hot days but cool nights), I figured it’ll be nice to look at interiors with a coastal vibe. One that reminds me of white sandy beaches and tons of bright natural light, boardwalks and boat rides, seashells and seagulls…

This porch area screams coastal. The rope elements from the hanging mirrors and woven planters, the lanterns, the painted ceiling which reminds me of blue skies and the wooden floors that mimicks a boardwalk….

Saturday Sunday Shindig: Retro Coney Island Themed Kids Party…

A while back I came across this retro themed carnival party for a child’s birthday and thought the details were incredibly cool. I’m all for thinking outside of the box and not buying entire themes of decor from party supply stores. Carnival parties can go in many directions. One being geared around circus animals with a petting zoo and clowns. This coney island vintage themed one is so cute to me. I especially like that the scheme isn’t strictly primary colors. A POPCORN BUFFET is perfect for kids and will surely be a hit. Continue reading for details…

Retro coke bottles for a ring toss game? Clever. Tickets in the shape of a cake? Super cool and very cheap. Those can be purchased from party supply stores…

Architectural and Interior Photography eclectic family room

Lately my mind has been drifting a lot to far away places that I want to travel, some that I’ve already been to and just day get-a-ways to Chicago (our sister city since it’s only 1.5 hrs away from Milwaukee). Here’s another round of interiors that decorated with maps and globes. For the most part, it can be a very inexpensive way to add art and a fun theme for a kids room. Don’t forget the map collage in THIS living room or all of THESE. Sidenote: iWant the ZEBRA ottoman now…

I’ve been challenged from one of my followers on twitter to create an adult space with a fairy theme. From a design standpoint, translating any theme into each and every detail can be overwhelming & gaudy. I wanted to accomplish … Continue reading
