Tuesday’s Tips: outdoor pillows can be used indoors too

image

It’s something we often forget but just because a pillow is intended for outdoor purposes doesn’t mean you can’t use it indoors. In Target over the weekend I saw such bright cushions and immediately thought about how they could help liven a space indoors for cheap. You see, dpending on the store, outdoor cushions are cheaper. In Target theirs start at $14 and this week they have a sale for $11.99.

Pastel floral tea party decor perfect for a shower, brunch or Easter…

image

Being that Easter is in a few weeks, which seems odd for some reason, I decided to do a pastel tea party post since those are the same colors used to decorate for Easter time…

Get more bang for your buck by hosting a little brunch with your adult lady friends or setting a themed playdate for your daughter, niece, etc…

image

You want to dress up for a tea party. Think, ladies who lunch. With girly dresses and maybe even hats, lace, frills, flowy A-lined skirts, ruffles etc. For little girls, dresses and feather boas, gloves and all of that jazz.

image

If you want, even have a few costume dresses on hand so those that come unprepared can at least change into something festive at the party. Leave out a vintage luggage case with different props that they can go through to add to their look.

image

Those same props can be used against a backdrop for a photo booth photoshoot. So that means anything that goes with little girls dressing up: costume jewelry, scarves, crowns, glitter heels.

It’s always cute to see little girls in adult heels playing dress up. I done it too.

Inexpensive decor & garland ideas using paper lunch bags!!!

image

I’m saying though….who would think to use paper bags as decor. Evidently these creative people and I am biting the above idea for a work event. A lady in our dept is retiring so this will be fun and festive. I will add letters to the bags to say congrats etc. When you factor the cost of bags, using twine, fishing line, ribbon or strings & clothes pins…this is a very cost effective way to jazz up the backdrop of a food buffet table…

Tuesday’s Tips: consider a curtain, scarf or sheets for dressing a tablescape…

image

From bedroom interior to tablescape. Yes I know it’s not the same blanket. However the purple hue made me think how easily we could use a scarf, sheets or curtains with a bold pattern for transforming a tabletop.

Have you repurposed something for dressing a table?

I first saw this idea in Lucky mag. Simple hooks or knobs that are used for coats can be used for necklaces. Here is another way to use knobs.

See where the $12 bracelet holders came from. They also lined drawers which you can do with felt from Michael’s. Felt, as you know with hangers, keeps everything in place when moved…

Pegboards from Lowe’s or any hardware store can be spray painted any hue. I like a more neutral color myself like this gray one so jewelry stands out. See more jewelry storage posts here.
