You know how that voice in your head sometimes makes you feel inadequate? It may tell you you’re not good enough, smart enough, cannot and will not get that done. “That” thing you want to get done may be a short term, long term or life changing goal or accomplishment. Sometimes it’s not the people around you that makes us feel insecure. It may very well be ourselves.

We can be our biggest hater (I hate that overused word), our biggest blocker. Often times we believe our own hype. All hype aint good hype though. Don’t allow yourself to feel as if you will lose before you even get started. We have nothing but time and all we can do is try. You’d rather try than be old and wrinkly rocking away in someone’s chair mad at the things you didn’t do or attempt, right? So do them. Set those goals. Do something daily to achieve them.

One small thing I look forward to is making hot chocolate at work. It’s something I do during cold seasons and a small thing that makes me happy. I limit myself to one cup so I really savor every sip. I gueas the same can be said for life in general. We are all busy…we’re grown but often life flies by too fast the older you get. So I am trying to be present in the moment a bit more. We can be focused and driven while making sure we secure our futures but try to be in the moment sometimes and take life in…

We all like to buy things…some of us nicer things….some of us luxury things. Does the moment of happiness after you’ve made a purchase fade? Do you have buyer’s remorse or go back to feeling the way you felt prior to the purchase? I read an article on happiness that talked about making a point to have things to look forward to everyday. I love that idea especially because some days aren’t the most anticipated *coughs*Mondays*coughs*.

Often times buying something tangible can create a rush or pleasant feeling but those things aren’t usually what keeps you happy or makes the most impact on your life. When we dig deep, the true happy moments aren’t things or items but feelings from simply living. The bonds made, goals accomplished, dares challenged to the moments of silence, calm and peace. However if you must buy, you will be happier if you buy experiences instead of things…

Sweet treats like the image I took above is what I looked forward to. Shortly after arriving to work a coworker shared these treats. The chocolate covered cookie dough balls were the best!
