I love looking through the dollar sections of Target and Michael’s because for $1 and under $5 they always have decor and organizational needs for a home office and great party supplies. Lately I have been buying all things beach related for when I take my niece and god-daughter to the lake (Michigan). Pink Flamingos make me happy…

Maybe because my current color crush is coral but the peachynpink hues of this bird has me loving flamingo stuff.

This is basically what I think of when flamingo yard decor comes to mind. I think of mid-century styled homes, manicured lawns, sunny skies and palm trees.

Pastel floral tea party decor perfect for a shower, brunch or Easter…

Being that Easter is in a few weeks, which seems odd for some reason, I decided to do a pastel tea party post since those are the same colors used to decorate for Easter time…

Get more bang for your buck by hosting a little brunch with your adult lady friends or setting a themed playdate for your daughter, niece, etc…

You want to dress up for a tea party. Think, ladies who lunch. With girly dresses and maybe even hats, lace, frills, flowy A-lined skirts, ruffles etc. For little girls, dresses and feather boas, gloves and all of that jazz.

If you want, even have a few costume dresses on hand so those that come unprepared can at least change into something festive at the party. Leave out a vintage luggage case with different props that they can go through to add to their look.

Those same props can be used against a backdrop for a photo booth photoshoot. So that means anything that goes with little girls dressing up: costume jewelry, scarves, crowns, glitter heels.

Stylish Kids Toy Storage Solutions

One of the most inevitable truths for parents with kids is that they will always have lots of stuff all over the house. Kids are collectors. With birthday parties, holidays and showers they receive a lot and pile up a lot of stuff into the house. Kids always leave their toys anywhere. This can lead into a huge mess in your house if not well stored or taken care of. However, kids need the toys for play and development. Many parents find themselves wrestled down by the issue of storing kids things while at the same time maintaining a stylish space.

You can control all the mess by gathering it up after the kids, as you train them to do it by themselves, and organizing toy storage. There is actually a wide variety of kids storage solutions. Some of these solutions are much easier than you think.

Cardboard boxes present one of the simplest ideal ways for kids’ storage. In this case go for the tougher ones that will last longer. Since they are for kids, you must make them look attractive. You can for instance cover the boxes in gift wrapping paper to make them attractive. Alternatively use other colourful paper. Remember to also label the boxes so that the kids get to know which item goes where. Colour coding can be an interesting option too. In addition to the cardboard boxes, you can use plastic containers; which are even longer lasting. Such containers are ideal for storing small toys and tiny trinkets, which need easy accessibility. You can also try exploring with bags like those you carry to the market.

 

Shelving is also necessary as a way of neatly keeping the storage containers, boxes and bags. The shelf should be of a comfortable height for your kids, to enable them easily remove the containers and bags and put them back. You can even utilize the empty space around the windows with some built-in storage complete with drawers. Another perfect kids’ storage solution here is a chest of drawers. Kids and pets are a great factor to consider when choosing the fabric for your sofa and other household furniture and fittings. Imagine what would happen to your sofa if you had your kids and pets playing on it. Your kids will spill food on the couch as well as step on it with dirty feet.
