While going through Pinterest I noticed trend on my DIY board. There are so many things you can paint around the home…some unexpected to spruce up things up and add color. I especially dig Ikea’s gold leaf transformation of a basic chair. Check out my Pinterest to go to the sites of the projects.

Really loving me some lion pulls for dressers …
In many of my door posts I have become more fond of lion door knockers. But ever since this post I have been really obsessed with them and want to put them on my closet doors. But after seeing this I feel like I need to add them to a dresser drawer. They just give the oomph exclamation point to the final look.
Nailheads and lion pulls? Sign me up.
I even like them on the back of chairs and boxes. Do you like this look?

Tuesday’s Tips: add curb appeal with jazzy address numbers
Standard address numbers are nothing short of boring. Take an hour out of your weekend to jazz up the numbers and add some curb appeal to your exterior.

Tuesday’s Tips: DIY Ikea lamp inspired by Ralph Lauren’s Brass Helmet Lamp
I love those brass mushroom styled lamps but the real deal is a bit pricey. Purchase the Ikea lamp here and after a coat or two of spray paint, you can create your own saving$572.

I’m inspired by bright lacquered animal statues and figurines…
Designer Miguel Palacio has something in common with me. We both have animal statues. Mine are a panther and elephant. In giving my old decor new life, I spraypainted mine. Jonathan Adler was the inspiration as his home decor lines always feature bright colored animals. I loved the dogs from the Barbie House he designed here.
So yeah…all of this made me spray paint mine a cobalt blue and chartreuse.

I want cobalt blue pillows….and I’m not paying over $100 for them. I am frugal and cannot justify paying $400 for four pillows. And when browsing a lot of these online stores….I see that price range more often than I’d like. Actually it isn’t uncommon to see pillows at $150 price range. As a matter of fact…
