Make sure your mirror’s reflection is worth seeing…
I cringe whenever someone takes a bathroom picture on social media and in the background you see dirty towels, moldy grout, and on top of it a water stained mirror. I just want to scream USE THE CROP OPTION! And windex. Geez. So whenever you place a mirror in your home, make sure the reflection is something worth looking at. Here are some examples.

Standard address numbers are nothing short of boring. Take an hour out of your weekend to jazz up the numbers and add some curb appeal to your exterior.

Tuesday’s Tips: outdoor pillows can be used indoors too
It’s something we often forget but just because a pillow is intended for outdoor purposes doesn’t mean you can’t use it indoors. In Target over the weekend I saw such bright cushions and immediately thought about how they could help liven a space indoors for cheap. You see, dpending on the store, outdoor cushions are cheaper. In Target theirs start at $14 and this week they have a sale for $11.99.
10 Green Tips to Make Your Home Eco-Friendlier
by Jennifer Riley Simone, Case Design/Remodeling Indy
You don’t have to do a full-scale remodeling project to start increasing the eco-friendliness of your home. Home ownership means regularly replacing materials over time, whether or not we choose to remodel our living spaces. Each time you do a home improvement project it’s an opportunity to make your home a little greener. These 10 tips are a mix of ideas for creating a more sustainable home immediately and over the years as you update.
1. Use low-VOC paints and stains. Volatile organic compounds (VOC) are the toxic chemicals in paints, stains, and other finishing products, which slowly release toxins into the air after application. Low-VOC products have little to no toxins and are much safer for our health. Next time you repaint a space in your home, choose a low-VOC alternative or ask your home remodeling services provider to do the same.
2. Install insulating window shades. High-quality window shades and blinds come in dozens of different styles and can make a big difference in your energy bills. In summer, they keep the heat out. In winter, they allow solar energy to heat your home on sunny days while trapping the warm air indoors over night.

Tuesday’s Tips: Picture Lights not just for pictures…..
When placing art in your home, the best thing you can do is properly illuminate the piece so that it can be appreciated in the best light. There are a few ways to do this, one being back lighting. This modern take is my personal fav. It also looks hip and cool if a built-in has back lighting. Here are some examples.
Love this purple illuminated collection display.
Halogen lights cast the purest white light which are said to be idea for illuminating most art. But they generate heat so they need to be placed far away enough to not affect it.
