Color Connection: Emerald City Hues…

{lonny mag}
There are so many hues of green from lime, emerald, kelly & hunter. It’s not particularily a color I want to decorate with but I do admire these interiors starting with the above pic. That rocking chair is nothing shy of gorgeous. I like the textures of the wallpaper and the layered rugs & open shelving used to create a modern nursery…

Color Connection: the Domino Effect…

This is a black and white interior design filled post. Yep, straight to the point :-) I like the way the risers of the steps were painted white, creates a cool effect for the stairs. And the railing is slick.

This goes to show you, you can utilize any space in a room. One stool provides enough space for a person to eat at the breakfast bar pretty much making it an eat in kitchen. The other added space is for a home office area. Most people would have left this space undefined but here, the designer maximized all areas.

An older home with detailed architecture in the moldings, etc but it feels modern by having a black/white color scheme. You don’t see too many black painted trim work so I think this was a cool unexpected touch. The black floors are fabulous too. Continue reading for lots more pics.

Color Connection: Gray…

Gray, a color often used for formality,  is a cool calming color that is neutral enough to be paired with any other accent. I personally love to see gray combined with purples, mustards, or white. Gray & white color schemes are so relaxing to me especially in bathrooms. It creates a spa kind of feel that’s soothing. I’ve compiled many examples of for you so indulge…

Above is a beautifully white stylized lacquer desk with other contemporary pieces like the chrome chair & geometrical shaped wallpaper. Below has accents of gray with damask wallpaper framed, the drapery and rug.

I’m really fond of displaying books with the same colors as the room…

This modern space is a great office design. Who wouldn’t want to work in here? Now if you are anything like me, you wondered what the tower was in the background. Well, look below.

It’s a tower of books. How friggin cool is this? Very innovative. I’ve never seen anything like this before but it’s genius. I would try something like this but on a much smaller scale, lol.

Newlyweds home eclectic bedroom
This crocodile chair with grommet detailing is hot. I love everything about it. Such a rough texture in comparison to the other plush & sheer materials of the bedding. Chandeliers are always great but you know my fondness of black ones as I’ve blogged about here.

I want this window treatment (not color per se) because I find the structure to be uber feminine & romantic.

Something as simple as the stitching in a chair cover can be used to pull color inspiration. I must get a mirrored vanity in my life. It’s all sorts of glam…

Color Connection: Mulberry Hues…

HGTV’s Rate My Space user artelfin

My last apartment allowed me to paint & one of my bedrooms walls was mulberry. I miss it dearly. So this post is dedicated to the color whether it was designed in accents or as major components of the room. Indulge…

I love the white & mulberry color schemes with the above two pictures. White is such a pure color but definitely not one to use when you have children. Regardless of kids or not, unless you take your shoes at the door, one can’t avoid the inevitable carpet stains so a good way to hide that is a darker toned carpeting. It really makes the furniture & bedding pop out.

I love toss pillows. It’s so economically friendly when it comes to adding pops of color to a space. Here, they played around with different styles, patterns and colors & it all works well. The zebra pillows are echoed in the ottoman and I adore all things damask print.

Chocolate Glam…

Everything about this photo is giving me all sorta visualgasms. I am a toss pillow kinda girl. I love pier 1 for their assortment. I love mixing patterns & prints & love embellished ones. I think it’s one of the most inexpensive ways to jazz up a space. How glam is this bedroom? From the wallpaper to the grommet fabric headboard (that looks suede), the fur (I’m hoping faux) throw, plush & sequin pillows to the mirrored lamp. Tons of fun textures. I love it all & want it now!!!!

Now from my computer this appears to be a deep chocolate color. I love this home office. It’s fabulous & would definitely provoke productivity…unless you happen to find yourself gazing at your surroundings in awe. This mirrored desk…actually I’m not 100% sold that it’s a desk. It may very well be a dining table USED as a desk. If so, that’s completely fine. As I’ve said in my repurposing post , you can easily find something intended for one thing but decide to use it for another. I think adding mirrors & mirrored furniture to any space always adds that glam factor. The clusters of calla lillies adds the feminine touch to the workspace. The sheer panels allows privacy but lets in just enough natural light. Speaking of light, outfitting a room with a chandelier always turns it up notch. As with any office space,  placing pictures you love will bring you joy even in the mist of a stressful moment. It could be postcards of places you’ve been that will give you flashbacks of those memories or pics of people you love. I like how the bookshelves are adorned with plenty photos.

I don’t know about you but these two rooms just gave me enough indulgences a sweet tooth could have. ;-)
