Greg Natale likes order in his life including his closet. He wants everything to have it’s place and a place for everything. By carefully taking inventory of what he has, he was able to make sure there was a spot for it all. You won’t know what you need if you don’t take a look at what you have. I love the bowl on the coffee table books. It’s something anyone can do in any place of the home to house smaller things more beautifully. Buttons, safety pins, cufflinks, stud earrings, bobby pins, batteries….any bowl can be useful.

Fashion illustrations all throughout this home
I can’t begin to tell you the joy I received while looking at Megan Hess’ home in this home at adore home’s latest issue.
This bathroom…
I need some decals that look like ornate frames!
I love her thought process. She doesn’t hide her fav pieces, she displays them. She likes to look at her closet and upon the first glance see things that are meaningful to her, gifts from family or things she picked up in her travels.
Spring Cleaning: how to edit your closet
Decided to copy and paste Sarah’s rules of thumb for editing your closet and deciding what to keep and what to lose.
1. “If you hold up the garment and can see any body part imprinted in it – i.e. elbows, knees, saggy bums, etc. – it goes out.”
2. “Pay particular attention to collars – these are near your face and right in people’s eye line, so any fraying, wear-and-tear or make-up/fake tan stains, etc. means it goes.”
3. “Consider the ‘two tries rule:’ if you have put on a garment and then immediately taken it off to wear something else two or more times, let it go. I know, you spent good money on it and have never worn it, but you are not getting that money back by keeping it in your closet. Smile and enjoy the cathartic feeling of de-cluttering.”
Tuesday’s Tips: Picture Lights not just for pictures…..
When placing art in your home, the best thing you can do is properly illuminate the piece so that it can be appreciated in the best light. There are a few ways to do this, one being back lighting. This modern take is my personal fav. It also looks hip and cool if a built-in has back lighting. Here are some examples.
Love this purple illuminated collection display.
Halogen lights cast the purest white light which are said to be idea for illuminating most art. But they generate heat so they need to be placed far away enough to not affect it.
Every closet space I come across makes me more anxious to move…
…Into my new place which will have a walk in closet, a first for me. It’s even big enough to have a dresser inside. Cannot wait to move. I need to compile a moodboard so I can create everything I want and not miss a thing…

Or maybe I should leave my dresser out and put a small table to fold the weeks outfits in piles or display jewelry like a store…
Still need to go thrifting to find some pretty china and saucer plates for baubles.

Love the tape used to create stripes. Thinking of doing that versus painting the walls for the closet Decisions decisions.
Design Tip: if you don’t have shelving units, simply use a leaning bookshelf if hanging brackets isn’t your thing. Actually a bookshelf of any kind would work. See how this mom cave is used for storing shoes…

Creating an inspiration board with fashion figures and looks can help you select what to pair with what on days when you’re struggling with what to wear. I have been making paper moodboards of clothes, hair & makeup for over a decade. Going back to middle school, it was my way of eliminating clutter (magazines) while keeping pics that inspired me. For years I keep telling myself I will refer to those outfits I continue to snatch out and draw them…fashion illustration style.
I drew this a month ago and posted it to instagram. I liked the illustration online so drew my take. I want to devote more time to drawing. I’m too good to let that talent sit. And I want to frame my own drawings for my closet. I know I said this before…but it’s a passion of mine. Everyone who knows me knows I can draw. My day job always has me doing the creative duties of the office. I was great at drafting and rendering in college. I need to make the time. It’s just been difficult with being so cold, my energy is depleted plus I’m packing for a move which is why my posts have been scarce. I fall asleep everytime I sit down to blog…even on my lunch at work. I feel a bit overwhelmed with my task list currently…
Remember When….I blogged about this glamorous kitchen…
It was the brass hardware, antique lighting and marble surfaces that drew me to her kitchen as seen in this Indulge Daily post. I even first blogged about those beautiful door knockers below in the ways to beautify closet doors … Continue reading
Use bellman luggage carts as clothes racks….

You ever blog hop? I was on A Slice of Glam‘s site when she mentioned Stephanie Sterjovski Life & Style who mentioned Lovely & Chic. I was immediately drawn to the clothes wardrobes until I realized they were nothing more than luggage carts that you use at hotels. What a great way to repurpose. iWant!!!
Carefully Edited but Liveable Aesthetic: interiors designed by Greg Natale

I could live in any one of his designed homes and be happy with life. The homes have comfortable looking seating that you want to lounge on but the spaces aren’t overwhelmed with things. It appears the choices of decor were carefully selected leaving a very clean look…
The molding is beautiful and gives so much character to the home. Love the arched entry. But with modern furniture, it feels fresh and not dated in time. I know a lot of people frown upon painting wood but I would totally do it too. To me, I appreciate the details more when painted white or black.
Designs by Smith Boyd Interiors….
Opulence, Elegance and layered luxury is what you see when looking at a design by Boyd. He feels bedrooms should look like hotel suites. With an initial interest in architecture, the Art Institute graduate, realized his love for fashion, textiles, and furniture and pursued a career in interior design. Born in Louisiana, his first influences were in the rich French history of New Orleans. “I build rooms like wardrobes…carefully and specific to the bodies that dwell there.”
A coral & red explosion…
This is a lot of color enveloping the rooms…..
The furniture isn’t my style but the bones of the room is. I love black windowsills, gallery walls & reflection on the marble flooring. Usually I like area rugs to anchor spaces but this works…
