Pastel floral tea party decor perfect for a shower, brunch or Easter…

image

Being that Easter is in a few weeks, which seems odd for some reason, I decided to do a pastel tea party post since those are the same colors used to decorate for Easter time…

Get more bang for your buck by hosting a little brunch with your adult lady friends or setting a themed playdate for your daughter, niece, etc…

You want to dress up for a tea party. Think, ladies who lunch. With girly dresses and maybe even hats, lace, frills, flowy A-lined skirts, ruffles etc. For little girls, dresses and feather boas, gloves and all of that jazz.

image

If you want, even have a few costume dresses on hand so those that come unprepared can at least change into something festive at the party. Leave out a vintage luggage case with different props that they can go through to add to their look.

image

Those same props can be used against a backdrop for a photo booth photoshoot. So that means anything that goes with little girls dressing up: costume jewelry, scarves, crowns, glitter heels.

It’s always cute to see little girls in adult heels playing dress up. I done it too.

China can be borrowed from

an older relative or grandparent or hit your local thrift store, Goodwill or estate sale. They are always selling plates, teacups, little bowls and random place setting dishes for dirt cheap. I’m talking 99 cents and under cheap.

image

Mix-matching the dishes makes it visually interesting. I recently bought a few to store jewelry. So you can always use them to repurpose at the end of the party. If floral dishes isn’t your cup of tea (again, no pun, lol) then buy all white entertaining plates and serving platters. White is the perfect palette for displaying food beautifully. It doesn’t compete with the food and is very universal for other color schemes and themes.

image

Bed, Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s and Pier 1 sells a great variety of entertaining diahware. Cake stands can be pricey so if you have a DIY bug in you, I suggest getting some hot glue, candlesticks and glue the plates on the candlestick. See it here..

The best part about this theme is, it’s good for any Spring time or summer event. Mother’s day, Baby showers, Bridal showers or a just because…..Having little reasons to pull out these things thru out the year, makes purchasing them more of an investment. I know sometimes people hate spending money on finer items for a party you’re only doing once but fine China is something you can truly use whenever, not just a special occasion.

image

And little girls always dress up so keeping that trunk full of props can be used anytime they have a sleepover. Purchase things that you know you can and will use more than once.

image

image

To keep the theme going, you want to serve some high tea sandwiches and bites.
