I love almost any way to save money and there is something quite special about working up some sweat making something yourself. So here are a ton of painted rug examples and tutorials. I even have what NOT to do.

The above blue is designed by Mary Mcdonald. When painting a rug, try to stick with natural fibers — seagrass, sisal, jute. You can’t really paint on wool or acrylic, because it won’t adhere property. That’s what I gathered…

So is this something you would do yourself to save money or would you rather tackle smaller projects and just buy a rug? Have your own tip? Shoot me a tweet @indulgeNdesign with the hashtag #mytuesdaystip. I would love to see. Also time is running out for using the code HIGH at Shabby Apple to get 10% sitewide. It ends tomorrow so get to shopping!
