I have been writing to-do lists…detailed ones for the last two weekends and at the end of Sunday I end up feeling bad because I didn’t accomplish much…

At the same time, I whole-heartedly believe we should do whatever it takes to make our lives enriched. For me, I want to make a bigger effort in trying something new. I always cook new recipes and take different routes to work etc. I like to feel like I’m doing something new so as to not feel in a rut…

So I try to be at peace knowing that everything that caused me to put stuff on the backburner, was something I enjoyed doing. Whether it’s spending time with friends or family or staying away from my apt enjoying the weather one…two…or three extra hours that night. (Afterall it’s only hot here for a couple months before brutal arctic winters). How do you balance work, play, & lists????
Hey lady,
You gotta start editing that list so you don’t feel so bad! Good post. Made me remember something I learned from the great poet, Maya Angelou. In one of her collections she encouraged you to take a day off – every so often – from being yourself. Just for a day or a few hours, pause your life and do something that you ordinarily would not do. I did this often when I lived in NY and used to just hop on the subway and go someplace utterly foreign and simply hang out and experience that place. It was an amazing feeling. Gotta start doing that again.
