Tuesday’s Tips: get extra square footage by putting dressers in closets…

This isn’t for everyone but if you crave the idea of having a reading area or a desk or other sitting furniture, you first need to make room for it. Small rooms with too much furniture feels cramped & smaller than what the room actually is. Make some extra space by storing a dresser or armoire in the closet. It’s like having your own customized closet considering most of those installations has some sort of vertical drawer unit. So you’ll still be maximizing the space

If you’re lucky enough to have a large walk in closet, place the dresser in the center. Put chairs or a nice chaise lounge against the back of it for seating…

I hate plates on the wall but other than that, cute room! Love the softening feel by using drapery instead of closet doors…

Especially ideal for kids rooms as they need all the extra playing space they can get! Use under the bed storage like rolling drawers for toys and things…

Also ideal if you have one of those funny layouts where the window & the closet covers an entire walls. Depending on where the door is positioned, you may not have a spot for the dresser. I always say beds can be placed against windows and here are some nice examples but if you’re uncomfortable with that, you may end up stuck so pushing it into the closet would work wonders…
