{In Honor of Design}
I know I know *dodges bullets* this post should have gone up first thing this morning. As a matter of fact I usually schedule post for 1 am.
I’ve been slipping but I promise it’s only for the week. Anyhoo, I absolutely love apothecary jars. They are so functional and fly at the same time. There is no better way to create a chic storage option for bite size little things that you need within arms reach. Here are many examples of what you can put in them and the rooms for it…
For bathrooms and laundry areas, use them to store:
- Qtips
- Cotton Swabs
- Decorative Soaps
- Bath Salts
- Sponges & Scrubbers
- Detergent
- Clothes Pins

What about pet treats? This doggy daycare truly stepped up the game for pet hotels everywhere. Continue reading for more…
For kitchens you can get some really good uses for the jars like:
- cereal
- pastas/rice
- spices
- salt/sugar
- oatmeal
{Apartment Therapy}
You can even use them for some fruit. Oranges, Limes and Lemons look the best…
{Stonewall Kitchen}
Or use them for an assortment of nuts…
World Market sells some like this. I’ve used them for a kitchen project once. It’s a cool way to title what the jar contains…
{Strictly Simple Style}
The best ways to use them: Tablescapes
- candy buffet
- popcorn bar
- cheesecake bar
There are so many spin offs nowadays for the fun edible buffets/bars. This POPCORN BUFFET is beautiful.

Hopefully I can post a picture that you can use with a tablescape by ADAC (the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center). They filled the jars with M&M’s, Jelly Bellies and some other candy that matched with the color theme for the party. I love this idea and plan to use it for a party I’m having for some fellow designers. I will be filling them with candies but also with design related things like colored pencils and architectural scale rulers. Neat ideas! Keep ‘em coming!
You are absolutely positively amazing! Great ideas! Every single post is so creative!
